Riad Botanica Marrakesh
Project Details
Interior designer Claire Cau-Cecile was brought into the Riad Botanica project at a pivotal moment—when the vision to create a harmonious blend of Moroccan tradition and Australian sophistication felt conceptually strong but lacked cohesion in execution.
With her global design sensibility and personal travel experience across Morocco, Claire immediately identified key opportunities to bring the space into alignment. By integrating Australian-sourced finishes and curated decorative touches, she rebalanced the interiors to complement the vibrant local craftsmanship rather than compete with it. Her approach preserved the authenticity of place while elevating it with understated elegance.
Working alongside Owners and local artisans, Claire helped Riad Botanica define a unique identity ensuring this Australian owned, Deco inspired space found its audience. Introducing Australia designed finishes, and decorations balanced with the already vibrant local artisanal elements.
Located in one of the most competitive hospitality hubs On planet earth- Marrakesh, with over 2,500 properties in a 6km radius—Riad Botanica quickly distinguished itself in 2023 after opening its doors. It has since been featured in leading interior design magazines worldwide, achieving media recognition alongside industry giants as Conde Nast awarded Riad Botanica in the top 8 hotels in North Africa 2024/5. Recognised as the first Top World Hotel in Marrakech and ongoing PR value in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Most importantly it has maintained a consistent 85% occupancy rate since opening. Riad Botanica is now regarded as a new standard for luxury riads—a masterclass in cultural fusion through design.
