Project Northcote
Project Details
In the heart of Melbourne’s vibrant inner north, Project Northcote was designed with one clear objective: to elevate a newly constructed residence into a market-ready family home with broad, lasting appeal. With the structural floor plan already in place by the owner-builder, the creative direction was entrusted to Claire Cau-Cecile, working under Twofold Projects, to shape the full interior identity of the home.
The team were responsible for specifying every design element—from joinery concepts and finish selections, to the design of the central staircase and the specification of fittings and fixtures. With the goal of resale firmly in mind, their approach focused on materials and details that would resonate with a wide audience, while preserving warmth and sophistication throughout.
Understanding that a home of this scale would likely attract families, the team crafted a layout and aesthetic that blended functional flow with refined styling. Once complete, the property was staged to reflect a relaxed, contemporary lifestyle—helping prospective buyers envision their own future in the space.
The result: a 5-bedroom, 3-bathroom home that sold for $3 million in 2017, following a $1.2 million purchase—an outcome that underscores the impact of considered, market-savvy design.
